Dakota Blue Richards was born on 11 April 1994 at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in South Kensington, London, England, UK an English actress. The name "Dakota Blue" named by her mother wanted a combination of  place name and colour.

Dakota Blue Richards attended and finished at St Paul's Primary School and began attending Blatchington Mill School in Hove and the K-Bis Theatre College. Dakota Blue Richards throughout primary school she attended weekend drama classes and took time out of school to attend auditions.
